Cavapoo coats are beautiful, soft, and low-shedding — but they do require regular care to stay healthy and mat-free. Here's everything Cedar Wood Farms families need to know about grooming their Cavapoo.
Brush Every 2–3 Days
Cavapoo coats are prone to matting, especially behind the ears, under the legs, and around the collar. Brush your Cavapoo every 2–3 days with a slicker brush to prevent tangles from forming. A metal comb helps work through any small mats.
Professional Grooming Every 6–8 Weeks
Schedule a professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. Your groomer will bathe, trim, and shape your Cavapoo's coat. A shorter puppy cut is easier to maintain, while a longer cut shows off the breed's beautiful wavy texture.
Bathing at Home
Bathe your Cavapoo every 4–6 weeks, or when they get dirty. Use a gentle, dog-safe shampoo and conditioner. Avoid over-bathing, which can dry out their skin.
Ear Care
