Cedar Wood Farms is a family-owned and operated breeder in Berry, Alabama — part of the greater Tuscaloosa / Northport area. Our puppies are raised right here on our property, surrounded by kids, farm animals, and everyday life.
We believe that the environment a puppy is raised in shapes everything about who they become. That's why our puppies spend their early weeks growing up underfoot in our home — not in kennels or cages — hearing the sounds of daily family life, being gently handled from birth, and learning to trust and love the world around them.
We don't breed for profit. We breed for purpose. Every puppy we place is a puppy we've poured our hearts into, and we stand behind each one with a comprehensive health guarantee and lifetime breeder support.

Parent Dogs
Health Clearances We Require
Before any dog joins our breeding program, they must pass a thorough battery of health screenings. We use OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) testing standards — the gold standard in canine health evaluation.
OFA Hip & Elbow Evaluations
All breeding dogs are evaluated for hip and elbow dysplasia to reduce hereditary joint issues.
DNA Genetic Panel Testing
We test for breed-specific genetic diseases including PRA, vWD, DM, and more to ensure healthy litters.
Cardiac & Eye Clearances
Annual cardiac exams by a board-certified cardiologist and CAER eye evaluations are required for all parents.
2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee

From Birth to Home
Every Puppy's Journey
Weeks 1–2
Early Neurological Stimulation
We begin ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) exercises daily to build resilience, confidence, and adaptability.
Weeks 3–4
Socialization Begins
Puppies are introduced to new sounds, textures, and gentle handling by our children and farm animals.
Weeks 5–7
Vet Exam & Vaccines
First vet check, age-appropriate deworming, and first vaccine series are completed before 7 weeks.
Week 8
Ready to Go Home
Final health exam, microchip, puppy pack, and lifetime support are provided when you pick up your puppy.
