The Journey Home
Getting Your Puppy to Louisiana
Getting your puppy from our home in Berry, Alabama to your home in Louisiana is a short, easy trip. Louisiana is one of our closest neighboring states, which means most families choose to drive — and many meet us halfway.
Drive Time
~4–5 hrs
Meet-Up
Meridian, MS
Flight Nanny
MSY / SHV
Same-Day
Possible
From Berry, Alabama, the drive to the Louisiana state line near Slidell is roughly four hours via I-59 south to I-12 west. Families in the New Orleans metro area can reach us — or our Meridian, Mississippi meet-up point — in a single morning. Baton Rouge is about five hours door to door, and Shreveport in the northwest corner of the state is closer to four hours via I-20.
Because the drive is so manageable, most Louisiana families pick up their puppy in person. Our most popular option is the Meridian, Mississippi meet-up: we drive about 90 minutes east and you drive about two hours west from Baton Rouge, and we hand off your puppy at a safe, public spot for a flat $150 fee. It cuts everyone's driving in half.
If you'd rather not drive at all, we can arrange a flight nanny to escort your puppy to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) or Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV). Ground transport is also available when our nanny schedule is full.
