Bringing home a new puppy is exciting — and a little overwhelming! Here are five tips we give every Cedar Wood family.

1. Start Early

Puppies learn fastest between 8–16 weeks. Start gentle training the moment your puppy comes home.

2. Keep Sessions Short

5-minute sessions, 3–4 times a day, work better than one long session. Puppies have short attention spans!

3. Use Positive Reinforcement

Reward good behavior with treats, praise, and play. Never punish — it damages trust.

4. Be Consistent

Everyone in the household should use the same commands and rules. Consistency is key.

5. Socialize, Socialize, Socialize

Expose your puppy to new people, places, sounds, and experiences early. A well-socialized puppy is a confident adult dog.
