Cedar Wood Farms — Animal Encounter Liability Waiver & Release

By submitting this request and checking the agreement box below, you (the "Participant") and, if applicable, the minor children and guests in your party acknowledge and agree to the following terms governing any and all animal encounters at Cedar Wood Farms, including but not limited to the General Zoo Tour, Otter Swim Encounter, Sloth Encounter, Kangaroo Encounter, and Monkey Encounter (collectively, the "Encounters").

1. Inherent Risks. I understand that interacting with any animal — including but not limited to otters, kangaroos, monkeys, sloths, and other exotic or domestic species — carries inherent risks. These risks include, without limitation, bites, scratches, kicks, falls, slipping on wet surfaces, drowning or near-drowning during water encounters, allergic reactions, transmission of zoonotic disease, and other physical or emotional injury. I acknowledge that these risks exist even when animals appear calm, friendly, or familiar with humans, and even under the careful supervision of Cedar Wood Farms staff.

2. Assumption of Risk. I voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks associated with participating in any Encounter, whether on land or in water, and I accept full responsibility for my own safety and the safety of every guest in my party, including minors.

3. Release and Hold Harmless. I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, and the guests in my party, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Cedar Wood Farms, its owners, staff, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to any injury, illness, loss, or death that may occur during or as a result of any Encounter, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

4. Minor Participants. I represent that I am the parent or legal guardian of any minor participating in my party, and I have the authority to enter into this agreement on their behalf. I agree to supervise the minors in my party at all times and to ensure they follow all staff instructions and posted rules.

5. Health and Conduct. I confirm that all participants in my party are in good physical health and have no conditions that would make an Encounter unsafe. I agree to follow all instructions from Cedar Wood Farms staff, to approach animals only when permitted, to refrain from touching or feeding animals without explicit permission, and to respect all barriers and signage.

6. Water Encounters. For any Encounter involving water (including the Otter Swim Encounter), I acknowledge the additional risks of swimming and water-based activities and confirm that all participants are able to swim or will be closely supervised.

7. Photography. I grant Cedar Wood Farms permission to photograph or record participants during Encounters for promotional and social media purposes, unless I notify staff in writing otherwise prior to the visit.

8. Reservation and Availability. I understand that Encounters — particularly the Otter Swim Encounter — have limited availability and must be requested in advance. Submission of this form does not guarantee availability; all Encounters are subject to confirmation by Cedar Wood Farms staff.

I have read this waiver in its entirety, understand its contents, and agree to be bound by it.
